Vent-Axia has always known its fans are second to none in performance and quality and now the company has support from MITIE’s Property Services business in its claim. Over the last 18 months, approximately 1,800 of Vent-Axia’s dMEV (decentralized Mechanical Extract Ventilation) Lo-Carbon Centra fans have been installed on a far-reaching refurbishment project for housing provider, A2Dominion, earning a ringing endorsement from MITIE.

“We used Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon Centra fans to provide continuous extract ventilation for the kitchens and bathrooms in a wide range of different A2Dominion properties and we’re delighted with the results” comments Jonathan Coiley, Senior Buyer for MITIE’s Property Services business. “We chose Lo-Carbon Centra for various reasons, including the quality of the product, how discreet it looks, the minimal running costs (less then £1.50 a year to run) and its green credentials. To know that the product specified will do the job, with no ongoing maintenance problems is critically important for us. Centra is a terrific product.”

Formed in October 2008, A2Dominion is responsible for over 34,000 homes across London and southern England, offering a wide range of housing options including affordable rented, temporary, student, sheltered, supported and key worker accommodation. The company also offers homes for sale and shared ownership through its A2Dominion New Homes brand.

Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon™ Centra is ideal for retrofitting. It provides a near silent dMEV solution with the lowest specific fan power in its class, complying fully with Building Regulations Part F for continuous mechanical extract ventilation (System 3). Centra is capable of achieving up to 90% energy savings and a 62kg carbon reduction, so offering tenants not only literal peace and quiet, but also peace of mind that electrical bills won’t hit the roof.

Centra is designed to operate as a continuous running axial fan, offering trickle ventilation but comprising a boost feature which can be utilised as necessary based on specific room requirements. Adjustable ‘Normal’ running speeds make it suitable for continuous extract in kitchens, bathrooms, en-suites and utility rooms.

Centra not only helps improve efficiency, but fits discreetly in modern homes and is simple to install. It provides a simple and effective form of ventilation and is fitted with 100mm spigots, common to traditional intermittent extract fan. A switched Live input allows the fan to be boosted by a range of Vent-Axia’s switches and sensors, or a single light switch.

Centra is part of Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon™ collection. Headquartered in Crawley, West Sussex and celebrating its 75th year as an influential and undisputed industry leader, Vent-Axia continues to set the standard with energy efficient solutions for controlling the flow of fresh air, its temperature, humidity and cleanliness.
