Leading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted in two categories in the prestigious H&V News Awards 2016. The Sussex-based company is celebrating its Sentinel Kinetic 200ZPH mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) unit reaching the final in both the Air Movement Product of the Year and Domestic H&V Product of the Year categories.
Vent-Axia’s 200ZPH is a ground-breaking product that is both efficient and effective. Developed to address comfort issues in modern thermally efficient homes the 200ZPH helps avoid overheating with its unique summer bypass algorithm. Highly efficient the 200ZPH can transform the indoor environment of a home, offering improved thermal comfort and indoor air quality and thus have a positive impact on occupants’ health.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in not one, but two categories at these leading industry awards,”said Ian Mitchell, Product Marketing Manager, New Build Residential at Vent-Axia.“The H&V News Awards honour excellence and forward thinking and we are very proud that our product has been recognised in this arena. At Vent-Axia we are committed to offering the market innovative, efficient products and the 200ZPH is a great example of this.”
The 200ZPH is an addition to Vent-Axia’s popular Sentinel Kinetic range of MVHR solutions. Designed specifically for small apartments the 200ZPH offers exceptional performance boasting an impressive 86% thermal efficiency and a specific fan power (SPF) as low as 0.62W/l/s. The 200ZPH’s performance is further enhanced by the latest high efficiency backward curved impeller design ensuring lowest possible energy consumption and ultra-quiet operation. Featuring multiple plug and play control options and BMS connectivity, the 200ZPH is also easy to install and maintain.
Meanwhile, the 200ZPH’s unique summer bypass algorithm is a real advance in controllability since it is fully automatic and truly intelligent, a first. It removes the need for the homeowner to programme the system and is the only MVHR system on the market which can determine what time of year it is and what settings it needs to be operating at, ensuring year round thermal comfort.
For further cooling the 200ZPH summer bypass has an evening purge feature that boosts early evening and then runs on a timer until about 10pm so there is no nuisance noise at night. Additional cooling is also available for periods of several days of high temperatures and warm nights. Here the 200ZPH utilises a Night-Time Purge. This allows a home to be pre-cooled for the following day by taking advantage of cooler night-time temperatures. Meanwhile, in winter the unit utilises frost protection to stop frost building up on the intake side of the heat exchanger and so preventing damage.
The 200ZPH also improves indoor air quality, which recent research has identified as a major health risk. In the latest report MVHR is cited as the most cost-effective solution for achieving an air exchange rate to help protect human health, whilst still satisfying energy efficiency requirements.
Combining supply and extract ventilation in one unit, the 200ZPH extracts warm, moist air from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting and passes it through the heat exchanger before being exhausted outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger. In addition, heat recovery ventilation reduces excessive moisture in the air, combating condensation and subsequent mould growth and improving indoor air quality and therefore occupants’ health.
Winners of the H&V News Awards will be announced at a glittering ceremony on Thursday 21st April 2016 at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London. As the longest-running and most celebrated awards, the H&V News Awards is considered the ‘Oscars’ for the building services industry.
