Vent-Axia is offering eight easy steps to help protect children from indoor air pollution on Clean Air Day on Thursday, 17th June 2021. Clean Air Day is led by environmental charity Global Action Plan and aims to improve public understanding of air pollution, build awareness of how air pollution affects our health and explain the easy actions we can all take to tackle air pollution, helping protect the environment and our health.

Vent-Axia continues to lead the way in reliability with one of its Silhouette bathroom fans celebrating its sixteenth birthday. Installed in 2005 in a family home in Hornchurch, Essex during the refurbishment of the property’s main bathroom, the fan is still going strong 16-years later. The Silhouette fan has worked effectively during this time without requiring any attention and continues to improve indoor air quality and combat condensation and mould.

The company’s ‘COVID-19 Support Campaign’ took the crown in an award that that was in-part, decided by an industry vote as well as being critiqued by an expert judging panel.

Vent-Axia is pleased to be once again supporting Noise Action Week (24-29 May 2021) and is raising awareness that ventilation doesn't need to noisy by offering seven steps to silence. Since the start of the pandemic, we have all been spending more time at home, which has led to increased noise pollution. Not only do we have to put up with extra household noise, many are also noticing more noise from neighbours as we all work and socialise at home more than ever before.

With further easing of lockdown restrictions planned for 17th May, pubs, restaurants, gyms, offices and other businesses should prepare for reopening by checking and improving their ventilation. The vital importance of good ventilation in helping reduce transmission of Covid-19 has been highlighted once again in new advice published in an editorial in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) ‘Covid-19 has redefined airborne transmission’.

Lo-Carbon Revive 7 fans from leading British ventilation manufacturer, Vent-Axia, are proving crucial in a social housing disrepair case. The fans were installed as part of an extensive renovation of a social housing property to alleviate condensation and mould issues. Yet the problems persisted. Thanks to the fans’ datalogging ability, it has been proven that the fans have been tampered with by the resident. This data is proving crucial in protecting the landlord from being prosecuted.

According to the British Dental Association over 14.5 million fewer dental treatments were carried out between the March 2020 lockdown and September 2020 in England compared to the same period in 2019.1 Due to the pandemic dentists are not able to see as many patients as they used to since due to COVID restrictions there needs to be a gap between patient treatments to minimise the risk of virus transmission. This is called ‘fallow time’ and has been said to be the biggest barrier to increasing dental appointment capacity.

Vent-Axia has put its Lo-Carbon PoziDry ProTM Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) to the test in a real home environment. The PoziDry Pro was installed in a 3-bed home in Reading which suffered from an ongoing condensation and mould problem. Air quality data from before and after the PIV installation showed a sharp decline in both total volatile organic compound (VOC) levels and mould VOC levels after the system was installed, whilst also successfully tackling condensation and mould.

Need some space to breathe at home? Due to the pandemic, we have been all spending extra time in our homes cooped up. Even in more ‘normal’ times many of us spend more than 90% of our time indoors breathing air that is up to 5 x more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air can contain over 900 chemicals, particulates, biological materials, viruses and bacteria. Each of us breathes 9,000 litres a day with poor indoor air quality (IAQ) affecting the health of everyone in our homes. It is therefore vital to reduce indoor air pollution.
