Vent-Axia has made the final shortlist in the prestigious Energy Awards 2013, which recognise and reward companies leading the way in reducing carbon emissions. Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon Kinetic Plus E, Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system has been selected for the shortlist in the ‘Energy Efficient Product of the Year’ category.

Launched in July 2012, the Kinetic Plus E is the best performing MVHR system listed on SAP Appendix Q. It boasts a specific fan power (SFP) as low as 0.4W/l/s, combined with 94% heat recovery, and provides valuable reductions in Dwelling Emission Rates (DER) – a key consideration as we move towards zero carbon homes.

Consuming as little as 20W, the Kinetic Plus E only costs around £20 a year to run, offering 94% thermal efficiency and potentially recovering 10 or 20 times more energy than it costs to operate. This offers homeowners an attractive cost saving as we enter the winter months and rising fuel costs.

Manufactured in the UK, the system combines supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted and passed through the heat exchanger before being exhausted outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the heat exchanger which recovers up to 94% of the heat energy that would otherwise be wasted.

Heat recovery ventilation also reduces excessive moisture in the air, combating condensation and mould growth, and saving money on maintenance. It also improves indoor air quality and brings the duel health benefits of reducing microscopic fungal growth and eliminating the conditions in which house dust mites thrive.

The compact system has two adjustable speeds, normal or boost, and pre-set speeds can be set on the controller for any required performance up to 400m³/hr (111l/s) 150PA, ideal for a four-bedroom house.

The Kinetic Plus E offers flexible left or right hand installation, features an external condensate connection and comes with frost protection. It is part Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon™ collection of energy saving ventilation solutions.

Meeting the requirements of Building Regulations Document Part F 2010 for whole house ventilation, System 4, Kinetic Plus E also complies with Energy Saving Trust best practice.

Attended by the biggest names in the energy industry, the Energy Awards are now one of the most important dates in the energy calendar. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 4 December at the Grosvenor Ball Room, Park Lane.
