Vent-Axia's Lo-Carbon™ Centra extract fan has been shortlisted under the ‘Ventilation Product of the Year’ category within the HVR Awards 2010. The short listed Lo-Carbon™ Centra is a discreet, near silent dMEV solution with the lowest specific fan power on SAP Appendix Q for new build developers.

Attractive to housebuilders, Centra helps score valuable points in the Code for Sustainable Homes by reducing the DER of new build properties. Specifically designed for new build constructions with a high level of insulation, the Centra is ideal for installation in increasingly air tight homes and complies with Building Regulations Part F for continuous mechanical extract ventilation (System 3). The Centra is capable of achieving up to 80% energy savings and a 62kg carbon reduction.

“We are delighted to be a finalist in the ‘Ventilation Product of the Year’ category for our innovative Lo-Carbon™ Centra” says Lee Nurse, Vent-Axia’s Marketing Director. “This is a tremendous achievement for everybody involved in the company and a vindication of the product as a solution to reduce building energy consumption and so carbon emissions.”

By incorporating the latest Lo-Carbon DC motor technology, the Centra extract fan delivers the lowest specific fan powers available for a SAP Appendix Q dMEV system. Offering virtually silent operation, a fresh design and a reduction in the requirement for trickle ventilators, the Centra not only helps reduce DER’s in SAP, but fits discreetly in modern homes and is simple to install.

Hosted by leading industry magazine Heating and Ventilating Review, the awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the building services industry, honouring companies’ technological achievements and service offering with seven awards categories. All finalists will attend a glittering awards ceremony at St Ermin's Hotel in Westminster on the night of 22 September 2010, where the winners will be announced.
