Vent-Axia has made the final shortlist in the prestigious Electrical Industry Awards 2010, which recognise and reward excellence across the UK’s electrical industry. Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon™ Sentinel Kinetic range has been selected for the shortlist in the ‘Innovative Residential / Domestic Product of the Year’ and the ‘Energy Efficiency Initiative of the Year’ categories.
The short listed Sentinel Kinetic range comprises wholehouse mechanical ventilation units with heat recovery (MVHR) offering up to 92% heat recovery. The range is SAP Appendix Q listed and helps score valuable points in the Code for Sustainable Homes by reducing the DER of new build properties. Specifically designed for new build constructions with a high level of insulation, the Sentinel Kinetic is ideal for installation in increasingly air tight homes and complies with the latest Building Regulations Document F 2010 for wholehouse ventilation, System 4.
A whole house, multi-room ducted solution, this MVHR range combines supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting and passed through the heat exchanger before being exhausted to the outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger which recovers up to 90% of the heat energy that would otherwise be wasted. The unit’s energy saving Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon™ DC motors further improve its efficiency and carbon reducing capabilities.
For homeowners the Sentinel Kinetic range offers energy efficient ventilation, cutting fuel bills and scoring highly in a home’s energy performance rating. Plus, the heat recovery ventilation will reduce excessive air moisture, combating condensation and mould growth, saving money on maintenance and decoration in the long and short-term. Homeowners are further aided through better indoor air quality reducing microscopic fungal growth and dust mites, both linked to allergies and asthma.
With the Sentinel Kinetic range the exact ventilation rate can be set on the LCD display at normal and boost speeds, supply and extract, to match the volume of the property, while a ‘delay-on-timer’ prevents unnecessary boosting and a ‘delay-off timer’ ensures effective moisture removal. The range’s operation is then further enhanced by a range of internal and external, plug and play control and sensor options which can account for changes in humidity, air quality, PIR (Passive Infra Red), CO2 and temperature. Featuring programmable Summer Bypass, the Sentinel Kinetic range’s operating temperature settings can be pre-programmed for automatic operation of the Summer Bypass, providing free summer cooling.
For electrical contractors plug and play controls and LCD display also simplify installation and commissioning saving valuable time to meet completion dates.
The Electrical Industry Awards are the independent stamp of approval for quality and innovation across the electrical engineering, contracting and power sector. All finalists will attend a gala dinner at the London Marriott in Grosvenor Square on 21 October 2020, where the winners will be announced.
