Vent-Axia has recently added the Kinetic E to its popular range of Sentinel Kinetic mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) solutions. Part of the company’s innovative Lo Carbon™ initiative, this is the latest product development for the residential market and cements its position as the UK’s industry leader in low carbon HEVAC systems.
The lightweight and compact Kinetic E is a whole house heat recovery system with 91% energy efficiency. The Kinetic E, as with the rest of the Sentinel Kinetic range, is a SAP Appendix Q listed ventilation solution that combines supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting and passed through the heat exchanger before being exhausted to the outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger which recovers up to 91% of the heat energy that would otherwise be wasted. The unit’s energy saving Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon DC motors further improve its efficiency and carbon reducing capabilities.
In addition, heat recovery ventilation reduces excessive moisture in the air, combating condensation and subsequent mould growth, saving money on maintenance and decoration in the long and short-term. Home owners or tenants are further aided through better indoor air quality which has the duel health benefits of reducing microscopic fungal growth and eliminating the conditions in which house dust mites thrive, both of which are linked to allergic reactions and asthma.
Noise levels are an important factor for home owners and tenants and the quiet operation of this unit, with levels from only 20dB(A) at 3 meters, is aided through it being acoustically lined. The Kinetic E is a one-man lift, offering flexible left or right hand installation and featuring an external condensate connection, which all make the unit easy to fit. There is easy access to the removable EU3 filters and the unit can be installed either horizontally or vertically.
The compact system, which can fit into a standard kitchen cupboard, has two adjustable speeds, normal or boost, and pre-set speeds can be set on the controller for any required performance up to 135m³/hr (381/s) 100pa. There are two light switch (LS) inputs, allowing the unit to be connected to a number of sensors and controllers, such as Vent-Wise, Timespan and Ambient Response Humidistat. One of the LS connections also benefits from a ‘delay on’ feature which prevents the unit boosting unnecessarily.
The Sentinel Kinetic range, including the Kinetic E, is part of the Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon™ collection of energy saving ventilation solutions. The aim of the Lo-Carbon initiative is to offer the latest low carbon ventilation technology in order to reduce building energy consumption and so carbon emissions.
