Sussex-based Vent-Axia, a leader in low-carbon technology, is delighted to be shortlisted in the prestigious Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2012. The company’s Tempra single room heat recovery unit has beat tough competition to be selected as a finalist in the ‘Innovation & Design’ category. This announcement marks the fourth industry award the British manufacturer has been shortlisted for this month with Vent-Axia already a finalist in the Energy Awards, the Electrical Industry Awards and the HVR Awards.
Established over 10 years ago, The Manufacturer of the Year Awards competition is specifically designed to acknowledge and celebrate the strength and diversity of UK manufacturing. The awards aim is to spread best practice, inspire others and show the important role UK manufacturing plays in today's economy. Within the awards ‘Innovation & Design’ is a key category that rewards manufacturers who have met the challenge of turning an idea into a best-selling product.
This year Vent-Axia’s revolutionary Tempra has been shortlisted within the Innovation & Design category. Part of the company’s Lo-Carbon™ initiative, Vent-Axia’s Tempra is the UK’s first single room heat recovery unit which can be simply retrofitted through a 100mm diameter hole in the wall. This allows traditional inefficient extract fans to be easily replaced with this discreet, low energy, continuously running alternative that also offers affordable heat recovery.
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted in a raft of prestigious industry awards. In the current financial climate both construction and manufacturing are facing tough conditions. We believe that investing in research and development is key to our manufacturing success. As a leading British Manufacturer we are proud to pave the way through our innovation and design,” says Lee Nurse, Marketing Director, Vent-Axia.
The winners of the ‘Innovation & Design’ category will be announced at The Manufacturer of The Year Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner, one of the biggest nights in the manufacturing calendar. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 21 November at Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London.
Other awards that Vent-Axia has reached the final in this month include the prestigious Energy Awards 2012 where the Tempra has been shortlisted under the ‘Energy Efficient Product of the Year’ category. Vent-Axia has also made the final selection within the ‘Innovative Residential/Domestic Product of the Year’ category in this year’s Electrical Industry Awards with its Silent Fan, the quietest ever intermittent bathroom fan. Meanwhile, Vent-Axia’s Kitchen Axial Fan (KAF), which is designed for the harsh environments found in commercial kitchens, is in the final line-up under the‘Commercial/Industrial Ventilation Product of the Year’ category, in the HVR Awards 2012.
